STEP 1: CHOOSE AN EVENT AND REGISTER YOUR TEAM(S) ON AES

Below is specific information for ACE events.

GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION TO KNOW

  • We host AAU and JVA sanctioned events. The type of sanction for an event determines participant requirements. It is up to the club representative to make sure the team meets all requirements.

  • Divisions have the potential to be combined if necessary in order to provide the best overall experience. While we hope to fill each division, this is never something that we can guarantee. If divisions are combined, we will combine within the same type of division - open or club. We will not combine divisions based on age unless absolutely necessary. For example, 14C and 15C have a higher potential to be combined than 14C and 14O. 

ONE-DAY GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION TO KNOW

ENTRY FEE: $250 per team.

FORMAT: Every team is guaranteed the number of sets equal to 3 matches. Aka, each team will play a minimum of 6 sets.

The day will start with pool play with a crossover match for pools of three.

Teams will then be reseeded and will finish the day with playoffs. Pool winners will be determined by match percentage. In case of a two-way tie, head to head results will be used. In case of a three-way, set percentage and then point differential will be used. If still tied, there will be a coin flip. 

Matches will be best two out of three sets. The first two sets will be to 25 with the third set, if needed, to 15. 

TWO-DAY GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION TO KNOW

ENTRY FEE: $600 per team for all events but the Ohio and Rocky Mount events which are $500.

FORMAT: Every team is guaranteed the number of sets equal to 5 matches. Aka, each team will play a minimum of 6 sets on Saturday and 4 sets on Sunday.

Pool play will take place on Saturday with playoffs on Sunday.

Format for pool play will depend on the number of teams within a division and pool. Pools with four teams or three teams playing a crossover match will play two sets to 25 with a third set to 15 if needed. Pools with three teams not playing a crossover match will play three sets to 25 regardless of the outcome.

Pool winners will be determined by match percentage. In case of a two-way tie, head to head results will be used. In case of a three-way, set percentage and then point differential will be used. If still tied, there will be a coin flip. 

Playoffs will be best two out of three. The first two sets will be to 25 with the third set, if needed, to 15. No pool play tiebreakers will be played.

WAVES: Each event will consist of an AM wave and PM wave unless otherwise decided. Information regarding which divisions are within which waves will be available the week of the tournament as the schedule is created. This will depend on the number of teams within each division.
